Travel Health

We ask that you allow at least 8 weeks prior to your holiday to arrange your travel vaccinations. This allows the nurse to assess what vaccine requirements you need, to order the vaccines in and to ensure that we have available appointments to book you in. Vaccines need time to take effect and may require a course over several weeks.

  • If you do not allow enough time prior to your departure you may be advised to go to a local travel clinic.

The only travel vaccines that are provided by the NHS at no charge to patients are:

  • Polio (given as combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)
  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A
  • Cholera
  • You WILL have to pay for travel vaccines that are not available free of charge on the NHS.

Our Nurses can provide basic travel health advice and arrange for appropriate immunisations that are free on the NHS.

Please complete the travel assessment form for our nurse to be able to advise you on what vaccinations you will require. Please arrange an appointment for a travel consultation at least 8 weeks before departure if possible.

Vaccines need time to take effect and some may require a course over several weeks.

If you require further travel vaccinations that are not included in the NHS schedule you will need to go to a Travel Clinic

Travel Assessment

We offer a basic travel advice and immunisation service. Please complete the travel assessment so that our nurses can advise on the vaccinations that we can offer you.

We only offer travel vaccinations that are free on the NHS. If you require further vaccinations outside of this schedule you will need to attend a Travel Clinic. If you are travelling abroad please complete and submit the travel form in plenty of time (we require 8 weeks notice) before your journey.

If you are travelling within the next 4 weeks, please seek advice/vaccinations from a travel clinic.
